Security of Google Wallet with Cyanogenmod?

I am tired of my neutered VZ GN. I bought the phone to have Google Wallet and the latest and greatest OS. My only option, it seems, is to root this thing.

Can anyone explain if GW's secure element is secure when running it on a rooted phone?
