Semi-Missing Contacts

This pertains to the Motorola Droid Maxx HD phone.

I scrolled down through my contact list to find a phone number and it was not there. It was saved under a specific Gmail address, like the others, and I could not find it by first name, last name, or company name. It was not there. I went into settings and ask to be shown "ALL" contacts (or which contacts to display). Could not find it there, either.

Looked the number from the local phone book, started typing it into the phonepad for the phone and as I was typing, the name and rest of the number popped up.

So the number, contact, all info associated with it are definitely contained within the phone. But...where?

Any help is appreciated.
