Serious and Sad

This weekend, a beautiful college student, home for Thanksgiving, disappeared. Her body was found Sunday, and her idiot boyfriend was arrested. They said that they found her because she had an app called "LookOut" that gave her cell phone location within a few feet. Her body was dumped in a remote wooded location. It would have been a while to find out what happened, otherwise.

I tried to find this app (we have snow storms here - just would like to feel safer) but it keeps coming up as an antivirus, and Droid school techs said NOT to put them on.

Any ideas? Ever heard of it?

I'm sorry about a few things. Very sorry to hear about this poor girl, sorry that she lost her life, and sorry for her family. I'm not familar with Look Out but am thankful she had it on her phone. There are other apps out there that might be of interest though and you might be able to put on your phone. Maybe others have recommendations of which ones they like the best.

Lookout has multiple features and phone location is one of them. A good app that I recommend is mobile defense https://www.mobiledefense.com/ it has the phone locate feature that your looking for

*I'm truely am sorry for that girl. My heart goes out to her and her family/friends. God Bless them and may she rest in peace.*

I have Lookout installed on my Droid 2. It does exactly what it says, it can locate the phone from their website, I have tested it just to make sure it works, and it does work rather well. It can even make the phone send out a loud siren sound.

I read about this story, and it tugs at my heart strings, because 5 years ago one of my dearest friends was murdered by her husband in front of their two kids. May God be with her, and may he give peace to her family and friends. I know all too well how devastating something like this can be. :frown:
