Settings won't open

As the title says, the settings won't open on my droid 2. Also, the widgets option won't open. Any help can help, thanks.

Have you rebooted the phone? What's happening when you try to access "Settings?"

Is this a brand new out of box phone?

The phone is not new, I've had it for about w months. When I try to open it, the first time the screen goes black for a second, then goes back to the homescreen. From then on, when I ckick it, nothing happens.

First if you have any task killers on your phone or antivirus remove them. Reboot your D2. If you still have the issue then do a Factory Data Reset out of your privacy section. If that still doesn't fix it then you'll need to take it back to Verizon.
