First I should disclaimer this post by saying I stick around the XDA Devs forums with a Sprint Hero.
Trying to root my buddies Droid:
I have downgraded to the 2.0.1 with RSD lite and Loaded a 2.1 Root update.zip from the stock recovery.
I am trying to get a custom recovery image loaded for him, but all the download sites seem to be down. Either that or I am a moron following the wrong links. The later is entirely possible.
Any one can confirm or deny this?
It's up to him, but I think a lot of people are using Bugless and seems to be the most stable?
Also, I can't really tell from the amount of posts I have found, does the "An update is available" message come up on every rom? Or do you just need the correct certs file, which should be in all of the roms?
