Shortcut for a specific contact

Hi All:
I am new to the Droid Razr and so far love it.
I want to place a shortcut for an actual phone contact on my main screen.
I use this number often.
Can anyone help with out with some instructions?

Long press where you want the contact to appear.
Select Shortcut.
Select Contacts.
Select the contact you want to appear.

If you'd to have your shortcut actually dial their number
1) Long press and pick Shortcut
2) Pick App Action
3) Select Direct Dial
4) Select Contact
