Just wondering since the Thunderbolt is out and it looks like all of the ROM makers are jumping on that bandwagon if we "Droid X" owners will be getting any updated ROMS. Anyone else have that concern?

Well you can think Motorola for that since they locked the bootloader. With the Thunderbolt, Gingerbread based ROMs will be possible due to being unlocked. Droid X probably won't see any new ROMs til official Gingerbread gets released.

Maybe ask the develpers of the droid x roms what there plans are.

Always been stock myself....haven't seen a custom rom that works 100%

Fission and Darkslide are awesome.

I just got my Droid X a couple days ago. I've already rooted it, and I have the Droid Overclock app from Jrummy.

As far as I can tell right now, there's not really much option for ROMs, and most of them are buggy. I'm sticking with stock for now until the official Gingerbread update, if there is one.

I love this phone. It's just like my OG Droid, but better. I really wish there were a way to unlock to bootloader. I'm sure there's a dev out there somewhere working hard to crack it.

You guys are awesome though. And donations will be coming in the near future. This whole forums deserves a very large donation for being the great information source that it is.

As long as the X has been out, I doubt there are still devs trying to crack the bootloader. I think they pretty much know it's not going to be cracked.

Jrummy posted on twitter that he's still planning on an update for liberty...

Looks like I was wrong. It may have actually been cracked.

Nevermind. Apparently somehow they got the keys.

Got the keys through a security exploit in the boot process. In essence the keys were ripped right out from the phone that Moto doesn't want you to break open.
