Should I factory reset?

So I'm on the Liberty Gingerbread 0.7 (I think), but I'm experiencing a lot of different problems. I don't know if they're related but I'll just say what's going on:

  • I can't set up Calendar, and every time I go and try to set it up, it puts me back into the main screen.
  • I can't access an email account that I set up. It says the account is already set up but I can't see it.
  • The phone crashes, frequently. A simple inch drop (It's in an otterbox) can cause the phone to reset. Something as simple as plugging in a headphone jack can cause it to reset.
  • Android Music and Google Music frequently butt heads. If I am listening to a song through Android Music, lock the phone, unlock, and try to repeat the song through notifications bar, it sends me to Google Music

At this point, I don't know whether it's the Liberty ROM (Though I doubt it), Gingerbread itself (I'm thinking this more because I didn't experience any of these problems on Froyo), or the phone itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do the factory data reset and if you have a task killer or virus protection make sure you remove them.

I say yes.

I had similar problems going from .7 to .8. doing a wipe (factory reset) and installing my apps fixed all the problems I was experiencing.

So I can't boot into recovery to factory reset. It starts to, the restarts and boots normally

EDIT 1:

Even Bigger Problem:

The phone seems to have completely crashed. I eventually was able to factory reset the phone, and got it back to the main screen. However, when trying to get to the market the screen turned black and became unresponsive. It sat like this for a good fifteen minutes. So I pulled the battery and now it doesn't boot at all. Goes into the ClockworkMod Recovery screen.

Please help! Thanks in advance!

EDIT 2:

Don't know what I did, but now it actually boots. The phone thinks that the battery is not a legitimate battery though. So I can only get through so much of the setup before the phone dies.
