Should I install the 5.5.893?

I have been without data on my Bionic since Tuesday. WZW told me it was a problem with Gingerbread on the 4g phones. I rooted my phone yesterday and flashed Liberty and still have the problem. I see that today people are talking about the 5.5.893 update coming out. I have it downloaded on my laptop and ready to put on my phone. My question is should I try and install it on a rooted phone with a custom rom? Pardon my noobness... I have only rooted a phone once before and this is my first time messing with custom roms.

I thought about doing the update but decided not to after reading about a number of folks that had initial good luck but then ran into problems with networking not working at all. Several have reverted to the stock version, which apparently is not so easy. I would not suggest updating to any of the several beta versions floating around unless you have a phone you can tolerate being unusable, or are confident you can revert. Personally, I'll wait.

I am running th3ory rom i went back to stock ran foreber rooted then the ota update and then back to.th3ory 2.0 No problems. Hand off from 3g to 4g is better and my networking works just fine . I do have restart connections installed as sometimes bad 4g will not let go back to 3g at the very edge of 4g areas. I drive alot and when driving it hands off just fine. The 893 is better but i think there will be more updates to come. So far all ota updates have to be on stock roms. You can be rooted but it must have the stock apps etc. The ota is the only way yet to get the radio and kernel update as though the phone is rooted the bootloader is still locked.

Thanks for taking the time to give me feedback. My data outage has been very frustrating. I flashed Eclipse yesterday and it turns out it put me to 893 but probably not the full fix. I am truly a noob at messing with phones so I will wait for my buddy who is a tech geek to get here and have hime help me flash to stock and see if I get the ota update. Once again thanks for the feedback!
