Shut off noise

I just noticed a coworkers DX says Droid and a vibrates just before the screen shuts off when shutting down. Mine only makes the music jingle. He is running 2.2 and I am running 2.1. Is this a feature only on 2.2?

It acts differently between 2.1 and 2.2.

I got my DX with 2.1 and, when shutting down, it always said "Loss of service" when the radio shut off and then it simply shut off. No vibration.

After 2.2, it no longer says "Loss of service" but instead beeps once, quickly vibrates, then a few seconds later before finally shutting off, vibrates a second slightly longer time.

In Settings, Sound, if I change Vibrate from Always to Only in Silent Mode, the first vibration goes away but the second longer vibration still happens.

It's annoying to say the least. Doesn't need to vibrate at all in my opinion.

Nope, just a different ring tone, and vibrate enabled. Check out notifications.

This is when shutting the phone down. After you press/hold the power button then select shut down. The vibrate and it saying Drooooid executes just before the screen/phone shuts off. Mine just makes a basic melody noise.

Does yours also say Droooooid?

Nope! It may have at one point but not more than once. Must have something to do with the ringtone I selected.

In Sounds, this is what I have set:

Silent Mode - OFF
Vibrate - Always
Volume - Each slider in the middle
Phone Ringtone - Mildly Alarming
Notification ringtone - Moonbeam
Feedback settings are all off except for Audible Touch tones
Double Tap to silence - Off
Smart Profile Face Down - ON

With those settings, it is pretty silent unless I get a call, text, or e-mail and it does what I noted on shut down.
