signal booster ???

Ok guys so i am useing pdanet to tether my phone to my comp. Then I'm using an ICS to hook up my ps3 to playstation network. It works alright some lag , but I don't havr the best 3g where I live and I was wanted some people opionon on a signal booster . Will that allow me to geet a faster internet connection ???.

Most legit boosters are going to be for voice only. For example, I have the Network Extender but it doesn't extend your signal for data, only voice. So I get full signal voice in my house but data connection is very weak.
