Silencing calls

I'm new to the Droid Forum and a fairly new Droid X owner. Is there any way to silence all calls/notifications except for a select phone number? I work at night and the phone wakes me up during the day but I want my child to be able to get ahold of me in an emergency. Any ideas? Thnx.
