I have a Droid3 that is under contract with Verizon. I am in mexico for 3 months and because of the plan i have i put my phone on airplane mode to avoid charges. I figured out that i can swap out the SIM card that my phone has for a local one. Will i get charged for doing this? can i send text messages from my phone now and not pay verizon anything for them, only the other company to which the SIM card belongs? If you have any ideas about this I would love to hear them.
