The thread title pretty much says it all. Ever since I installed the latest update, the car dock is no longer detected when I pop the Thunderbolt in. Before the update, Car Mode would be activated and Custom Car Home would launch. Now when the phone is in the dock, the charger kicks in and that's it. I've been through the menus but can't seem to find a solution.

Any suggestions?

Same as mine after update. Will not recognize car dock. Also ring-tones are wrong.

Me too. It's worked twice since the update Saturday. Once the first time I popped it into the doc after the update and once today. Also the phone won't go into landscape mode when in the doc which I think is a much bigger issue. I didn't care for the car doc app, I'd much rather just do without it, to be honest, but not having the phone in landscape mode while in the doc is an inexcusable error.

I think I found the solution. Go into your applications folder and open Dock Mode. Go into settings and turn off the option to have it automatically launch. So far so good.

You should be able to get the car dock detected if the dock is Unplugged, not sure why. But I have noticed that nothing will get the home screens into landscape mode. I used to skip the car screen, but really liked the home screen, dialer and phone screens to be in landscape mode.
I have a workaround, I installed Go Launcher, and an app that launches it when the phone is plugged in. This way when I insert the phone into the dock, Go Launcher launches. Also, I set the phone button on Go Launcher to use Go Dialer, this puts the dialer in landscape also.
I guess any alternative launcher would work if you don't like Go Launcher. I forget the name of the app that automatically launches something when the phone is plugged in. I'll post it later when I look through my app drawer and find it.
I'm hoping that HTC notices that GB killed the car dock and fixes it with an update, but I'm not holding my breath for an update. I still like my tbolt but I'm beginning to think that us tbolt owners are one big soak test.

Plug in launcher

For this app is there a setting for the car doc specifically or is it only when connected to power? I connect to power a lot but may not want Go Launcher to run those times.

No plug in only, I have my Go Launcher setup and regular setup almost identical, and have my "home" button set to go to Sense, so if I plug it in and don't want Go Launcher to run, I have to hit Home. I understand this is not ideal, but it's the best I've been able to come up with. Still hoping Htc changes it, but I Don't think that is going to happen, I contacted HTC regarding landscape home screens and they said they were limited by the Android operating system. I thought this was strange since it used to go into landscape, I really didn't want to argue with her via email over a phone feature so I didn't reply.

I've just been launching Car Panel manually, which launches Custom Car Home. If I launch CCH directly it doesn't necessarily turn on Bluetooth.

So, anyone find a resolution to get the stock Car Dock application to work just like it did before the update. I liked the original functionality and it worked perfectly. Now I get Car Dock once every 10 or 15 tries when I put in it the dock in the car. And I am not seeing anywhere on the phone I can launch manually as some seem to have. And I think it is kind of dumb to have to download and install App after App to get something to work that used to work just fine... This phone is really frustrating at times...

Also, someone had mentioned they just launch Car Panel manually. I can go to Settings>Applications>All and see Car Panel as an option there, but that is the only place I see it on my phone and no options anywhere to manually launch that. Phone is running GB and is NOT rooted...

I'm the one who launches it manually. It's listed with the rest of my applications. I could make a shortcut to it if I wanted to.

In general, my phone has been unstable since the last update.

Yeah, my phone does not have that as an application option anywhere to manually launch it...
