Skip a line or indent...?

Does anyone know how to skip a line or indent on the new motorola droid??? With other phones you usually press enter and it skips, i tried pressing shift then enter but does not work... anyone have any ideas or know how to do this??? thanks!

Use the return key to skip a line. It's the one with the arrow.

that seems to work only in the browser but in the messaging it doesnt work.
