Slow sync since 2.2.1

Ever since the 2.2.1 OTA upgrade, my sync has been slow, that is, often I get the sync symbol which means it is waiting to sync. Hardly ever happened before. (Stock)

Also, Launcher pro lag has become unbearable.

Any ideas why?
