Small scrolling glitch with text messages. Any ideas?

Greetings all.

I'm really liking my S4 so far and I've only come across one niggly little glitch.

When I send a text message, the 'phone automatically jumps me to the TOP of the conversation instead of staying at the bottom where the new replies will be.

I've looked through the text message settings and don't see anything so now I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the eye sensing?

Any ideas please?

Cheers.

Stock messaging app? I never ran into that problem for the few days I was using it, I've since switched back to GoSMS. Try clearing the cache of the app and see if that helps.

No problem, glad to help.

For future reference, if an app is ever acting funny, try clearing the cache. If that doesn't help you may need to take it one step further and clear the data (which can be found right above the 'cache' option).

I've also found the stock messaging app to be quite buggy, especially with "air preview". It works for only some contacts and it seems to be specific for whatever reason, but I can't figure it out and failed to find a solution. I do use GoSMS so that feature isn't available for Go anyway, but just in case you find that doesn't work out well either.

Uh oh, I spoke too soon. :( I'll do some more testing tomorrow but it may be happening with only one of my contacts (who happens to be my boyfriend, of course, sheesh). I'm going to clear the data next, as you suggested.

Cheers.

Well, this is still happening and it IS with all people. Very bizarre. :(

I've cleared the cache and the data as suggested.

Any other ideas please anybody?

Cheers.

It happens to my phone when I am in landscape mode, but not in portrait mode. It is rather irksome. I hope they fix this in an update.

As I said earlier, I personally find what made the stock messaging app interesting, the air view features, to be broken. Because of that, I made the switch back to GoSMS and haven't had a hiccup. IF you're willing to try a 3rd party app I'd give it a shot, they all seem to have more features and customization compared to any stock messaging app I've seen.

I've used the stock messaging app a few times since then, but I can't ever recall it jumping to the top. Maybe I'll try to replicate it and will report back if I remember to do so lol
