Hi group,

I am a newbie here and a newbie to the whole smartphone arena, coming from years of using just a very basic cell phone.

To help me better learn tricks and tips on this forum I first need some things defined/ explained.

What is the difference between Widgets, Shortcuts, and Application icons?

If this works like other techno forums I will probably learn more here than from any tutorial or user manuals available.

Thanks.

Just doing some cleanup of the forums so I am going to answer this and lock it for you.

Widgets are applications that RUN and DISPLAY on the desktop only. For example the Power Contorl bar is a widget. No need to OPEN the application.

Shortcuts are quick access to settings or features INSIDE an application without having to open the application.

Application icons launch the specified application.

Hope that helps explain it if you were still wondering.
