SMS Notification

I am running Handcent SMS and I cannot figure out how to disable the Pre-Installed Messaging status bar notification. I am getting notified twice for all incomming SMS. Any help would be appreciated.

go into the messaging app that is preinstalled, then go into menu > settings, then turn off notifications.
