I finally bit the bullet and switch to the HTC Eris from an Env. I am a heavy texter and live just outside of the service area for Verizon. I have downloaded and am using (and happy with) handcent. I'm not sure if these questions are app, service, or equipment questions. I have done some searching between this forum and a few others and have not been able to find an answer to my questions regarding sms messaging. It is very likely that I just wasn't searching for the correct terms, and I did find some answers and others that contradicted themselves, so I apologize in advance for starting a repeat thread if any thread nazis want to lecture me on the rights and wrongs of forum etiquette.
1. Is there anyway to see what time a message was sent? On my Env it would tell me what time the sender sent it as well as the time I received it. I like being able to know when mesages were originally sent.
2. Delivery reports. I get what this does, I've seen that some people have said that it really isn't accurate, but does it really have to send the report as a text message? is there anyway to just get a log or confirmation within messaging details?
3. along the same lines I see that under MMS, there is an option for a read report. Is there anyway to get this for sms?
4. Also, if there are any other texting tips/tricks that you may know of and care to share with me I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
L
