So, how do I root this thing?

So, with the drop dead deadline for returns approaching, I figured I better bite the bullet and try to root the Nexus, so it can run setCPU and other battery saving apps (and do some customization).

I have no idea how to do it and I am absolutely terrified to try. I do not want to ruin this great phone. I'm no computer newbie, but I'm always scared of things that can "brick" a device.

So, what do I do to get this Verizon Nexus rooted and how do I do it right so I don't screw it up?

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Here are some links to read thru... the long method and a one click method... definitely feel comfortable if you decide to try it, but either stock or rooted, the Gnex is a good phone...

These two methods are the "long way" but it helps you to understand the process... one will unlock and root while the other returns you to stock and relocks your device.

This is the one click method... same idea as above but it is automated for you...

Good luck!

Remember to backup anything you need, since unlocking the bootloader erases everything. :)
