Is it not on the market? I don't use Facebook so perhaps I am missing something.

I know I can get it from the market. Can I extract the apk after I download it onto my phone?

Yes. It should be in data/app

Yeah it is named something wacky, like com.katana.facebook.apk or something like that and as mentioned it should be in /data/app
