Software Update?

I tried looking at another thread to post but it was closed....so do excuse my ignorance.

I am a current Blackberry Owner and am seriously interested in purchasing the Droid...

Any BB owners will know the fun we have with updating software.

Will there (in the future or motorola site) be software (OS) updates (it kind of became my hobby since owning a Blackberry and would like to carry that legacy onto another phone brand)

Are there cd's with BB style software (i.e. back-up, restore, media loader, etc..)

Just a curious question for a curious guy.
