software version for D2

What is the latest and greatest software version for a Droid 2 and where do I find out what version I have? My D2 is totaly stock and I've had it since last November.

Settings > about phone

It should say system version is 2.3.20, android version 2.2

You can click system update to see if you have the latest firmware.

It's a good OS. The only major bug is the button and keyboard lights don't always come on. This can be fixed (temporarily) by starting the video camera and turning on its light.

Or an app called adjbrightness. The torch button in liberty toolbox. It may work being on stock gb

Are you refering to the stock Android OS, or GB? My D2 has the keyboard lighting issue; comes on and goes off when it feels like it.

I am a bit confused by this one. Can I do this to a system that has never been modified in any way, or is there some other in between step I need to do like rooting, etc? Sorry for the dumb questions but I'm kinda new at this, as if you couldn't tell.

Need to be rooted to flash this of course! That's all root with z4, install d2 bootstraper and flash this file after a data wipe.
