Someone please help! Urgent! Data Question

Alright, sadly I am a pageplus user with my Droid (amazing) until next month when I open a contract with verizon. But as of now, I have unlimited Talk and Text and 20MB of data. I've had the phone for a few days now, kept in mind that it is a smartphone, i shut the Data off and Background data. Making it a normal cell with Wifi. Which I use no problem.. But i have a few questions.

Can I receive Pictures while using wifi rather than data?

Is there anyway to keep the 3g Data on, and make sure programs such as facebook and AMAZON do NOT go searching for data, or have my phone look for 3g networks? I am in a town that doesn't have 3g Regardless, anyways I guess.

what happens for ya if you goto settings>wireless and networks>mobile networks and uncheck data enabled? with that option off will you still receive mms? that would be my 1st guess at getting it to do what you want it to do.

well no, i know about that. But i mainly want to keep data on if possible, but just not have it rape my data completely. I dont want apps updating and using the net without my permission

There's an app I saw on (i think) xda developers site that lets you choose either wifi or 3g or nether for individual apps, id look and give you a link but i just tryed their site and its down for maintenance at the moment.
