Someone please help..........

Verizon note 3 here.....ota just rolled out. My phone tried to update and I denied it. Well it tried anyway. I didn't notice it until my phone lit up the went off on the charger. Well......it tried to update, said error and rebooted. Somehow it factory reset, lost root, and won't let me update now........what happened

Are you running a custom ROM?

I'm not sure how it would factory reset on it's own.. Never heard that happening.. What were you running?

Factory. Only thing I had done was turn off and uninstall a lot of bloatware.

Taking an OTA update when you're rooted will almost always remove root. It's always best to return to stock first if you want the update, or wait for an updated rom.
Hang in there and hopefully one of our Note3 users can give you a hand.
They'll need to know what root method you originally used.

Also to add a bit more to the wtf......As you can see from the screen shot i still have my font. I used jimmyrom toolbox (rooted app) to change my font. Everything on my device was wiped back to stock. My boot screen no longer has the word custom under galaxy note 3. No root access what so ever. But it kept my font. .....um mm k?

The font file must have been written to the list of fonts. You will need to flash the stock ROM and then you will be able to get the update.

I'm not overly worried about the update due to mixed reviews. I was thinking about flashing the leak but kinda undecided. But if I chose to take the ota is there a root method yet? Biggest reason I started this tread was to figure out how this happened tho. Even after declining the ota it did it anyway, failed, then reset my phone and lost root.......I don't get it

You are better off doing the leaked.. You can get root with current baseband which is good..

Thanks. I'll just flash the leak this weekend. For future reference what needs to be frozen or removed to stop ota's?

If on stock Leaked I believe Beans removed the update.. But with titanium backup freeze SDM 1.0 normally
