Last night my phone reset. It was the first time it's done this and I don't currently have it rooted. No big deal.

This morning however when I went to press the home screen it asked me if I wanted to use launcher. Now just a second. Yesterday I went into my Droid and deleted all launchers out of my SD card (I have two of them). And prior to doing that I deleted it with Astro.

So, why do you suppose this would happen? I still don't have the Launcher I want, the one with the phone buttons, but I took it anyway because it's better then the regular home screen (IMHO).

How could this thing get back on my phone overnight?

i think anytime you add or delete a launcher, the next time you reboot it will ask you to choose...

Well where did it come from? I deleted the files off the SD card, so I don't know how it could even be in there.

When you put an apk file on your sdcard and then use Astro to install it, it is then written as program in the Droid's memory area. Isin't it? So, deleting the apk does nothing to remove the program that was created by the apk. (?)

You probably made one of the other launchers you were testing the default launcher. After your phone has restarted and realized the old "default" launcher was gone it wanted you to confirm the launcher as your "default" launcher again.

Either that or your phone is being taken over by Motorola which of course disables your 2.1 ota update causing your phone to boot into BB Storm mode.

Same thing happened to me last night, it freaked me out, and I'm not rooted!

Moto/Verizon playing around?
