Big news for Android gaming today from the E3 convention in Los Angeles. Today at their press conference, Sony announced that they are renaming Playstation Suite to Playstation Mobile. For those who don't know, Playstation Mobile is Sony's upcoming mobile software distribution platform that will be available on devices that meet Sony's certification standards. In essence, the software will allow you to purchase, download, and play games from the Playstation Store on mobile devices that have been Playstation certified. The new service is now open to third party manufacturers and HTC is the first to be certified by Sony. No word yet on when we might see HTC's first Playstation device or when other manufacturers may follow suit, but we'll let you know as soon as more information surfaces. It will be interesting to see what this does for the Android gaming. Let us know what you think in the forums.
