Sony-Ericsson revealed today at a little known tech conference called, CommunicAsia, that they will soon be adding two new Android phones to their lineup. The two phones are described as "niche lifestyle" type devices and are called the Xperia Ray and the Xperia Active. More than likely they will be primarily marketed in Japan, but one of them is also destined to go global.
The Xperia Ray comes with a fairly tiny 3.3-inch display, but also uses Sony’s renown Mobile Bravia Engine. Its most distinguishing characteristic is that this 100 gram little phone is also fitted with an 8.1MP camera that includes Exmor R optics. The Xperia Active is designed for more "active" lifestyles, although word is that it is only "lightly ruggedized" so you can't get "too" active. Both phones sport a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and will come with Gingerbread 2.3.3. These look like fairly interesting devices. Which one would you like to see come to the States?
