Sorting contacts

I can't find the answer anywhere, but I need to resolve this if possible. Is it possible to sort contacts by last name first?

Your contacts are in gmail?

This is what others have done:

Much better than editing each contact.

Open Contacts, hit the menu button, 2nd option is "Sort list by", click Last name and you're done.
Also I see "View contact names as" with a last name first option. I don't sort mine that way but I'm sure these options are what you want.

2.2 has this feature. 2.1 does not natively...

Ahh, I was wondering when that became available. I didn't know I had that option in 2.2! Learn something new every day

I have the x and don't have a sort option yet. wish I did, this is a real PIT.
