Speach to Text app before I die!

I am hoping someone can tell me if there is an app that will convert speach into text I could really use this for when I am driving. If there isn't one availiable pls let me know

the ones i have tried dont work well in the car. Havent tried handcent though. Probably because of all the road noise in my car, maybe bluetooth head set translator would be cool

If you're up for rooting, you could always load up a ROM with a 2.1 keyboard. 2.1 has Speech-to-text for any field you can type in.

It basically means gaining access to all parts of your phone, and it gives the ability to replace the "ROM" , or the central files the phone uses to boot up, with something custom. The other person was saying by rooting, you can install one of the android 2.1 ROMs, which has the txt to speech keyboard

Everyone uses this term rooting. What does it mean?

It means they hack their droids, changing it so it can do stuff beyond the factory settings. Go faster, use diff software, etc etc.. I never did it and am no expert, just know that from what I read here..
