Starting with Liberty

So I've decided that new GB is killing my battery life and it sounds like Liberty should improve that significantly (I used to get 40 hrs on stock Froyo with a screen-off underclock)

So my question is, should I go back to Froyo and use Liberty 2.1, or stay on GB and go to Liberty GB .7? I don't mind paying the $5 to get the newest version and whatnot, I just want to make sure I choose something stable.

I'm currently running the rooted OTA Verizon GB thanks to TBH!

I am also thinking the same.. however if you do the latter of the two i believe you have to sbf back to froyo then do the rooted .596 ota (tbh). I maybe wrong though.. i hope so, cause i would lve to go back to liberty!

Gingerbread is superior in battery life, performance, and functionality. I dont get why people like froyo so much. Yes you should get 0.7. Stability is not an issue. Runs great.

40 hours, huh?

did you leave wireless off while screen off too?

Nope, I use Wi-Fi off and on so I never really thought about it much. Biggest thing was the underclocking.

Performance to some extent is better, though some things like WidgetLocker don't run as smoothly anymore.

Functionality, I don't really see much difference. Wifi tether doesn't work anymore and Widgetsoid Notification toggles are bugged now.

Battery Life: Going from 35-40 hrs per charge to less than 20? For shame!

Less than 20?

Don't you sleep? Throw your phone on the charger at night...like the other %99 of the world does.

Of course I do! But like everyone else, I forget now and then, plus, every cycle lowers the total life of the battery. I'd rather use the full battery 3 times a week instead of 6 times a week.
