Startup audio glitch. "Drooooiiid" is now a random ringtone

I have not done any modifications to my phone. The startup audio file from all the commercials -robotic sounding droid- is no longer the audio file that is played.

It started happening after another issue was recognized. All pictures from my gallery disappeared. I pulled the battery and restarted as other posts suggest but never got those 200+ pics back. Camera doesn't always want to work...I am not sure if there is a easy way to do a repair on the OS files or not?

Should these problems be addressed by Verizon?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I see problems all the time of course but the loss of pictures doesn't make sense. They are kept on the SD card and unless you do something like format the SD card, they should all be there.

Battery pulls for the most part don't do anything, more likely it's just the reset of the phone. I would suggest that you do a factory data reset on your X.

You will lose any data you currently have and you will have to sign back into everything. That's really minor stuff. The tough thing is the possibility that your free apps won't come back. They never have for me.

Your paid apps will all be in the Market under "My Apps" or "downloads" depending which Market version you have.

This is the same thing Verizon would have you do so you might as well go ahead and do it.

Go to settings/privacy/factory data reset. Do the reset and see if your X doesn't return to form. I can't promise it will find your missing photos because this is basically to fix the phone.

One last thing…..If you are using any task killers or antivirus please remove them. That may be the source of your problem.

I do not use any task killer as everything I read said they are worthless. Same about antivirus.

I will give the reset a try and see if it fixes it...only have 9 hours of work left with no actual work to do...

Thanks for the help :)
