still on 4.0.4 getting update failed message

i'm on 4.0.4 (pretty sure its stock)
i was rooted.
but i've been livving on my unsafe origional side no mods nothing changed.

i finally went to do the update. an it downloads
while its about half way through the update, the little android falls over and throws up the red triangle of death.

i've done a factory data reset with a full wipe, (and now have no root or safe strap installed. and its still doing it.

suggestions?

Use rsd lite to fxz 246 and then you will be good to take jb

ty i was just reading through the guide. the site tat has the .246 dl also looks like it has the 4.1.2 verizon us update
so i'm thinking i can flash stright to it ?

Yep. That's your best bet. Cut out a step and save some time that way. Good thinking.

ahh i see my typo lol
i meant to say failed on process 5/24

which in the other thread on the last page someone says they got around it by deleting two certin lines.
it just worries me to do that because they only have two posts
