Stock Speed Tweaks

Hello,

I'm fairly new around here. I came from WM, but now I've got the amazing Droid X.

I figured I'd share this package with anyone interested as I find it very usefull myself.

Basically, I've "borrowed" files and ideas from custom roms. Especially Drod's Fusion roms to increase the performance of my X.

UPDATED:
Mirrored latest mods by Focused Roms. Moved cpu and memory startup scripts to usr/bin folder for compatablilty with overclocking apps. Additional tweaks that are included with focused roms have to do with some additional garbage collection of memory and variable cpu cycle settings.

I've got the overclock script in here, but only to very minimally undervolt:
1000000000 54
800000000 45
600000000 35
300000000 25

Also have some memory and cpu tweaks taken straight of of Fusion 1.6 in 01cpu and 01vm.

With these minimum tweaks, I find that my X flies. I experience little to no lag, and with ADW installed, I feel like I'm running a custom rom minus the drawbacks when an OTA update comes out or if I don't like the AOSP camera (sorry rom builders, I like the blur camera better)

Anyway, I packaged these into a nice neat update.zip package that you can install via clockwork recovery.

Steps for those who don't know:
  1. Place DXTweaks.zip on sdcard
  2. Run Droid X Bootstrapper
  3. Click Reboot Recovery
  4. When phone reboots, Click Install zip from sdcard
  5. Select DXTweaks.zip
  6. Select yes to install
  7. Let that finish, then reboot
  8. Enjoy the upgrade that you'll never physically see

I hope you enjoy this, and I want to make sure that I do give credit where credit is due.
Thanks to Drod2169 since I took the mem and cpu scripts from his rom
Thanks to the team that came up with the Overclocking method. (sorry, don't remember the original source of this)

Also, just to save myself from blame/guilt. Remember that anything you do in clockwork recovery could potentially brick you phone. Always be sure to have a backup handy. I am not responsible for any harm this may cause to your device.

Thanks everyone.

Is there something here that can't be done with Jrummys overclocker? I mean, I'm just curious. I'm running RubiX Blurry 1.0 in order to run Incognito Blurry, and running the ULV 1.3ghz setting in Jrummys overclocker. Lag free and battery friendly. I understand you're focusing on stock, but if it can all be done with the app...?

As far as the clock speed and/or voltage, Jrummy's tool will do something similar, and can be used to override/ignore the settings in this file.

The key that I found to a smoother stock experience lies in the two files that do the memory management and cpu cycle tweaks.

If you're on Rubix or Fission, then there is really no point, I just created this for myself so that while I'm running stock, I can easily apply this and be running fast and smooth again.

Maybe no one cares, but if you are running stock motorola 2.3.15, I've updated the zip file with some greater tweaks.

Again, pretty much all taken from drod2169. I'm a huge fan of his work, I just can't seem to break myself out of using some stock apps though. I'm keeping this updated since I use these settings and don't want to have to dig around and find them again if I loose nandroid or do sbf or have an ota update sometime soon. :r_c:
