Stock txt msg app - meaning of orangish triangle w/ white exclamation mark in it?

When I click on the stock text messaging app and it opens the main texting window with all conversations, there is a very small orangish triangle w/ white exclamation mark in it directly to the left of the time stamp by one particular persons name. What does this mean??

When I click on the person's name to see the texts we've exchanged it doesn't look like anything is wrong.

I think it means the text failed to send. Long press on the text itself to get details.

might have to scroll back in the text history for that person to find the text that failed.. sounds like it wasn't a recent one from the description.. should have that triangle again on the message.. then do what giant said ^
