Stopped syncing Gmail

For some strange reason my phone stopped syncing and automatically checking for Gmail. I have to manually refresh all the time otherwise I don't get new mail in my phone's inbox. Any ideas?

I had this happen to me a week or so ago. I couldn't figure it out so I did a factoryr eset and that solved the problem. I know it's not a solution per se, but it did work.

I have the Darkslide mod done on mine, not sure what happens with a factory reset or how to do it.

Mine stopped on or around 7/21 and I have no idea why.

try going into
settings
applications
manage applications
and clear the data from Gmail
