Strange battery problem (DROID Charge)

Hey guys, first or second post here, and this ones thrown me for a loop. I've had my Charge since it came out, and I've bought a new battery for it. Its a Hyperion battery, 1600 mah. When it's fully charged its fine, but once it gets to roughly 86% and I turn it off, when I turn it back on, the battery level has dropped exponentially. from 86 to about 17. But the strangest thing is that, over time, if I don't touch it, it slowly charges back up, not plugged in or anything... Just sitting there! I have NO clue what's happening. Is my phone haunted? xD. Also, its running the standard rom, not rooted or anything. Thanks in advance for any help! I

This does sound like an odd problem! First. .. when was your last Factory reset? And two, sounds like the battery might be to blame, but reflashing the device and resetting will guarantee that it is not a software or firmware issue! I have everything you need to fix the software! Let me know if you need them!

Hmmm, the last fac. reset was roughly a year ago, but I really wouldn't want to do that because I have alot of stuff on it (32 gb sd card with 11 gb full). I guess I'll just hang on till December when my upgrade gets here... (LG G3!! =D )

The SD card is not wiped when factory resetting. You can always pull it out as a safety tho. And flashing your device will only reset your apps.
