Stuck at safestrap menu

So I'm kind of a noob at this, but I installed safestrap (i think 1.08) and everything went fine. i rebooted my phone, pressed the menu key, and it went into the safestrap menu, but now i can't figure out how to boot normally. All the tutorials that i've found says that when i reboot my phone and i don't press anything for 10 secs, it boots normally, but mine keeps booting into the safestrap menu without me pushing anything and no matter how long i wait, nothing happens.

Do I just use the "disable safestrap" in the advanced menu? or is that a last resort kind of thing?

That is a last resort yes.

It sounds like you have reached that point. Did you have another bootstrapper installed before safestrap?
