Stuck during power up cycle

My wife and I have new Droid 2's both have exhibited the same problem during start up, they just get stuck and go into a continual loop of showing the droid symbol, then the red eye, over and over again. Both times i removed the batteries and they seemed to work again.

Is this normal? should we expect it to happen again, or should I be taking tem back?

if its not rooted then yes i would take it back for sure bc im some case the "bootloop" wont stop and you have to SBF
