stuck in 3g

Greetings all-

Recently, my Motorola will not switch over to 4g. I have run speed tests via the speedtest.net app to verify that I am only getting 3g speeds. I have not changed anything that I know of. I verified that my preferred network is set to CDMA/LTE. I also updated to Eclipse ICS 1.6.2 after these problems started and this did not help. Android version is 4.0.4. I have never had this problem before and live literally across the street from a cell tower. Please halp! I read this thread which sounds similar to my problem, but don'y know what flashing .xml etc means. Thanks for the help!

Have you done any tampering (rooting, etc) with your phone in the past?

Also, check to make sure other phones have 4G in your area. Might be good to look at all the phones at the neast Verizon store/kiosk to make sure the 4G in your area didn't just drop at the same time as you upgraded. Wouldn't be the first time I've heard of it.
