Super User Update

1st Post - Rooted my Droid X with Z4 but did temporary root first time and then went to Super User app but didn't work and told me there was an update and gave me a zip file (su-2.3.1-bin-signed.zip) but it won't open. After reboot, I did a permanent root and Super User seems to be working so do I even need this file or update and if so how do I open it and what does it do?

You don't need it. It installed the up to date super user file when you did the permanent root.
