Does anyone know if there is a way to disable or suspend an application, as an alternative to completely uninstalling it? I ask because my Advanced Task Killer status screen suggests the phone is simply going to run every app on the phone all the time, regardless of how many times I kill those tasks and regardless of whatever my own preference might be. That in turn suggests that if I can't control what apps run and when, the only control I can exercise is to uninstall the ones I don't want running all the time. I am wondering if there is a third way.
The perfect example of this is the built-in browser vs. dolphin. I definitely don't need them both running all the time, but liked dolphin enough that I would prefer not to have to uninstall it unless that is the only way to get that system memory back. Ditto for the 4-5 voice recorder apps I downloaded in a mostly futile attempt to find something that will let me record mp3s to send to my secretary.
