I just picked up my Razr Max yesterday. Upgrade from the Iphone 4. So I wanted to try the swipe text feature. My girlfriend loves it on her Droid. I set all the options in the settings, but I have yet to find the "swipe Key" You know the key to turn the swipe on and off on the key pad screen. Am I missing something?
You have to actually change your input method to "Swype"...when you are in any text field, long press and select "input method" from the popup box and then select "Swype"...
You can also change it in phone settings (homescreen, hard menu key, settings) - language & keyboard, input method and select Swype.
Thanks for the quick responses, That did the trick
So far I am liking the Phone, but still have little issues that have me uneasy though. Guess its just a learning curve though.
For example. How do you keep Slacker radio from timing out when the charger is not plugged in?
Does it stop playing when the screen turns off? Are you on wifi or 3g/4g?
If you are on wifi, you can check your wifi sleep policy (phone settings, wireless & networks, wifi settings, hard menu key, advanced). If you are using a type of task manager that shuts off data after the screen shuts down, you can check your settings there as well.
I was using it while in 3G. Not much 4G service in our area yet. It would play after the screen stopped, but not long. Like about 5 min maybe. I was looking for a setting for it, but must be over looking it.
I need Swype lesson, LOL.... I just dont get how to use it! I tried typing a word using Swype and it wasnt the word I trying to type. What is the technique? Or do you know of a Swype 101 or Swype for Dummies lesson I can take? Lol:blink:
Use the tutorial. The Swype key should take you to a lesson on using it. Then it's just practice. I didn't like it at first, took a few days playing with it to really stay enjoying it. Now I can't live without it.
