Swype on Incredible question

I have the apk on my phone and installed it correctly but when I try to do the tutorial the keyboard does not respond as there is a blue box that highlights the swype board like it was locked. I can't use the swype keyboad at all and it won't let me do the tutorial because the keyboard doesn't respond (shows the blue streaks but no doesn't process anything)

There are several Swype versions floating around. Are you sure yours is compatible with the Incredible?

That one should work. Make sure you uninstall the version you have now.

*also, make sure you enable Swype in >>settings>>keyboard.
