Syncing contacts with Gmail

When my contacts were transfered to my Droid from my old phone some contacts were messed up. I have corrected them on Gmail but they are not changing on my droid and I am not sure if I am doing something wrong. Any ideas.

make sure you don't have a copy of your contacts saved on your sd card. that can cause the phone to try and read them which will screw things up.
