syncing movies

I bought 4 movies from Google play to watch on a cross country plane trip only to find out that the movies won't fit on my device. This is due to Google not allowing them to be transferred to the SD card. How idiotic. You would think they'd have a way to identify an sd card in a specific device and allow the transfer to complete and be watched only on that device. My question is, how can I transfer movies from a dvd to my note 2 sd card using a macbook pro? Someone mentioned using an app called handbrake? Is it a time consuming project?

If they are in mp4 or mkv format, just connect the device and mount the mass storage. Drag and drop from computer to micro SD. Most video players will play popular formats. I use VLC for Android to play my movies.

If you just have them on DVD you'll need video software like DVD Catalyst to convert the DVDs to device friendly video formats.
