Im coming from the og droid and I have my eyes set on the rezound. I do have a couple of questions before I take the leap n I have always found df to have a great community for help.

1. Im used to running nandroid backups n custom naming them when i back them up....can i name them before backup w amon rah or do I simply manually change them after backup?

2. I've played w rezound sense at the store and Im not a big fan. What's the best senseless stable ICS and gingerbread rom around? I read somewhere that cm9 is not coming to rezound :(

3. Are there any custom stable kernals for overclocking?

4. Should I simply wait to see what the incredible 4G has to offer. Thanks

1. I think you have to name them afterwards. I don't think you can name them in Amon.

2. I run mostly Sense. Don't know if there are many AOSP Gingerbread roms for Rez. I think Scott has a Senseless GB Rom. Make sure to research mainver issues and roms that use newer leaked firmware if going to ICS. There is a good amount of extra steps to modding and romming on these newer devices. Things aren't like they use to be on the d1

3. There are overclock kernels, but honestly I stick with stock because this thing is a dual core 1.5 and is fast as is.

4. You can wait for the Incredible 4g but it seems like it is going to have lower specs than the Rezound. It's up to you. I think the Rezound is an all around great device. It's dependable and the modding/development community is great.

@strove - can I ask what rom u are using. I wouldn't mind using sense as long as it doesn't big down the performance. Are you saying most ICS roms are still in alpha phases?
Im used to old school renaming files to update n putting into sd dir...is it more work intensive now?
One last question does rez take 32g sd cards thanks

I love my Rezound but if I was in your shoes and could afford to wait a few months, I'd wait for the HTC One Series phones to come out. These will release with ICS and Sense 4.0 which the Rezound won't be getting. They say that Sense 4.0 is less cumbersome than previous versions so you may end-up liking it. Just my two cents.

We have cm9 in the works, a sense 4.0 rom thats almost ready for prime time, and a boat load of ics and modified gb roms. The dev scene over at xda Is off the hook!

I was leary of buying the rezound too, but there weren't any phones that had better specs. 1.5 ghz dual-core is very very fast, faster than my iPad. I bought the rezound for its processor, screen, and it's audio processor.

My og droid is on its last leg...I think spec wise the rez has the best right now. Battery I can put up w...im hoping custom roms will help w that...
As for the Htc ones I dunno if Verizon is even picking it up. Its quad core? I figured the rez can hold me down for 2 yrs...like my trusty droid

I would say the bionic would be the absolute worse phone to get. I had that phone. It was plagued with problems. Some people didn't have issues I guess though.

The HTC one series that will be lte will probably have nearly the same specs as the Rezound except it will be released with ICS and Sense 4.0. Verizon may not even pick it up. The Rezound is getting Sense 3.6 and ICS.

I am running ICS Rez Rom now with Sense 3.6 and it runs pretty good. Nils roms run pretty good too. All of the developers that work on the Rezound are pretty knowledgeable.

I miss Miui though. Hopefully someone picks that Rom back up.

I would say that GB runs the best for me so far. But the ICS roms aren't far behind. I have used a couple as daily drivers. Also yes I believe the Rezound can take a 32gb card.

Side note. Turn windows animation off in developer menu in ICS for better performance.

@msengul - Ive played w the bionic and with the recent update its what it shouldve been but i dont think ill be happy with it till my ne2.

@stelv - Thanks for all the tips. Im 99% certain ill be picking up the rez... just gotta wait for a good deal now... wished i picked it up on leap yr day lol. Im also hoping the developers will soon have a stable ICS sense or no sense as long as it doesnt lag. Im gonna check out xda and start reading up on how to tinker with the new system. Thanks.

Good luck! The Rezound is my favorite phone on Verizon right now. ICS roms are stable on Rezound, there is just a very little animation lag at times for me. Rez Rom ICS is actually running pretty bug free for me right now. AOSP like MIUI would be nice, but I am unsure of the outlook of AOSP on this device. Hopefully they figure it out, but I am ok with Sense.

Nobody's doing AOSP on the Rezound currently because it would be AOSP Gingerbread. AOSP ICS can't happen until HTC drops source for ICS and we can get the proprietary hardware binary required to build ICS.

I cannot see how you will not be impressed with the rezound, it is a great phone. I am running cleanrom ics and it is great. The only complaint I have is the extended battery is a bit bulky.
