Telus 2.1 Official Out!

Heyy guys,
The telus milestone 2.1 update is out on motorola's website

I have a few questions. I rooted my phone with the brazilian sbf...
Do I have to wipe before updating? Is it safe to update? Can I still root after updating?

i bought my milestone about 2 weeks ago and also would like to know this. would it be possible to root while updating the official telus 2.1 update :S

i don't know much about all of this so i dont know why or why not we wouldn't be able.
