Tether Question

I'm on the OG Droid with Verizon. I saw the wired tether option in settings>networks and wanted to know if it was free. I have the unlimited data plan so it should be, right? Thanks a lot!

you will be charged and automatically put into the tethering plan.

One way to gain access to tethering is to root and use WirelessTether.

Another way is to use EasyTether (not sure if it's on the market anymore or not)

Well that's no good. I never had any luck with wireless tether. I found a root wired tether app though. I'm assuming that would work essentially the same as wireless, right?

I use wireless tether on my rooted D1 for my iPad so I only have to pay for one data plan and it work fine.

Thanks guys. Got wireless tether working after a couple minutes.

Since I used the in-built tether for like 10-15 minutes will I have to cancel it at verizon or will they automatically shut it off next month?

Can a program such as go to my pc be used on verizon droids to control/use my office or home desktop? Where do you get such a program? Deciding between Droid 3, Bionic, or Samsung Charge

No the free version. The paid one is for commercial use. You can download it free.
